Do you know the difference between the words ensure and assure?
I didn't so I went to the Internet Gods and came up with the following answer: ensure is to make certain, to guarantee
and assure is to give confidence (as in to a person). The object should always be a person.
For example: I closed the lid in order to ensure that it wouldn't spill.
I assure you that it wont spill.
Pretty simple, ah?
That's it for today's language lesson.
Stay tuned tomorrow, where we'll learning how to make money out of old newspapers....
This morning I received the neoprene case for my Sony Clie NX70v.
I ordered an aluminum case from Proporta and I got a free neoprene case "while I wait" (since the NX70 is a new device they don't have the aluminum case yet).
This is the second case I get from Proporta (although the last time I bought from them they were called ScribblePDA).
About a year ago (probably more) I bought a case from them for my previous PDA (a Palm Pilot m100).
Although it wasn't the best case in the world, it was still the only hardcase I could find for the m100.
The neoprene case I got today makes the NX70 a bit bulky and it's pretty el-cheapo but it does the job (at least until I get the aluminum case).
The price for this entire deal is about £27 (including shipping to Israel). That's a little less than 220NIS.
Not the cheapest thing in the world, but not too bad for an aluminum case (and the free neoprene one) given that plain leather cases cost more here.
