Now you don't have to go to the slammer to create your own license plates.
Just go to the license plate generator, type in the text that you want to appear on you plate, and voila: you have your very own customized license plate.
Just print it and stick it on your car...

These pre-soiled underwear have a secret pocket for keeping your cash, documents, and other small valuables from inquisitive eyes and thieving hands!
The idea is that nobody will want to search through your dirty underpants, keeping your valuables safe.
I wouldn't want to work in the quality assurance department of that company...

You'll find out at the end...
Update: it seems that the original clip has been removed.
Here is another link to the movie.
Thanks to Joe for letting me know.

Fade To Bluegrass is a bluegrass tribute to Metallica.
On the tribute CD Iron Horse play several Metallica songs only bluegrass style.
Instead of electric guitars there are banjos and mandolins.
The site has two short clips of "Enter Sandman" and "Wherever I May Roam " that you can download.
If you're a Metallica fan (or a bluegrass fan) then check it out.

SplashShopper is another excellent Palm Pilot app from SplashData (the people who brought us SplashID, the great password manager).
SplashShopper is a shopping list manager for your Palm Pilot.
You can manage different kinds of lists and automatically synchronize them between your desktop and your handheld.
So when you notice that you're out of peanut butter you can quickly add it to your shopping list on your PC and have it available on your handheld when you're in the store.
The program comes preloaded with a database of many items that you can choose from when you are creating your list (so if you need to buy milk you don't have to manually add a milk entry to the database, there already are tons of items).
You can, of course add your own items.
One of SplashShopper's best features is that you can add prices per store for every item.
So next time you are at the store you can see how much you paid for orange juice at a different store.
I've been using SplashShopper for a couple months and haven't found it missing any features, it's just about perfect.

SawStop is a table saw that automatically stops when it detects contact with skin.
The SawStop system works by recognizing the difference in the electrical properties of wood and a user. The system induces a high-frequency electrical signal on the blade of a table saw and monitors this signal for changes caused by contact between the blade and a user's body.
Check out the demonstration video on the site, it's quite amazing how the saw blade drops and results in only a small nick in the "finger".

If you're tired of plain beige computers then check out these wooden computer components.
They have lots of stuff ranging from mice to monitors.
BTW: the site was featured in several places on the web so they are having trouble handling the rapid increase in traffic.
So if you are having trouble accessing the site then just try again later.

Conkers is a fun flash game.
A conker is a ceramic ball on a string.
You choose your conker, give it three treatments to make it hard, and then you have three swings at your opponent's conker.
The objective is to swing, hit, and break your opponent's conker (before yours breaks).
I got 720 and completed 7 people.

Nope, that's not a typo: Foood.net is a site with some excellent (and I mean that) icons.
It has sets of high quality icons that you can download and even some tutorials with techniques how to create your own amazing icons.

I recently read an excellent article over at "Ask Tog" called A Quiz Designed to Give You Fitts.
It's a quiz for interaction designers that demonstrates the importance of Fitts's Law.
There are ten questions (and answers) with different scenarios where Fitts's Law is important.
If you're into designing anything that people need to interact with then you'll want to give this a looksy.

Check out how a woman grows old over the span of 69 years.
It was created by morphing images of the woman from different times in her life (that were taken in the course of 69 years).
That site also has other cool time elapsing videos (it is called playingwithtime.org after all).

And if you're not bored enough with fonts, today we have fonts especially for programmers.
According to the site:A font for programming must be monospaced, extremely readable, and must sharply distinguish between similar characters, such as capital O and zero and the number 1, capital I, and lowercase L.

Some more free fonts, this time it's free typewriter fonts.
You'd be surprised how many different typewriter fonts there are (the main difference between them is the levels of "dirtiness").

How's this for great management:
South Korea's third-largest credit card issuer fired 161 people (a quarter of its workforce) via mobile phone text messages!
The firm said it had no method for contacting striking staff other than using SMS messages.
Next thing you know you'll be getting death notifications by SMS...

There's an excellent article over at pointlesswasteoftime.com about how the video game industry will crash in a few years.
David Wong (the author) goes into great detail on why he is sure that "beginning with the 2005 wave of consoles, the video game market is going to crash".
A great read if you are into that sort of thing (his writing style is pretty funny).
I guess I'm going to sell my Nintendo stocks...

HP announced a new CD drive that lets you burn labels on a CD (they call the technology "LightScribe").
The way it works is that after you burn the contents of the CD you flip the CD over and the laser burns a picture (that you can of course select) on the top of the CD.
You do need to use special CDs that have a special coating on their top side.
The process doesn't use any consumable materials (other that the CD itself) so you don't need to buy any toner or ink cartridges, the laser just burns the image onto the CD itself.
The drive is expected to cost about $10 more than a regular CD burner and the blank CDs will probably cost about a dime more.
It's about time that you could easily create labels for your burnt CDs.

And if we're already on the subject of weird looking gadgets then take a look at the Belkin Nostromo Speedpad n52.
This is one of the weirdest looking devices I have ever seen but it looks so cool.
Even though the Nostromo may look like a very complicated piece of equipment straight out of NASA, it is actually a game controller for the PC.
According to the review at Tom's Hardware, the Nostromo is a great buy (especially at a MSRP of only $39.99).
Too bad it's only for the PC and not the PS2 (at this time at least...).

The Telson TWC 1150 is a wristwatch with cellphone (and a plug camera).
It has a speakerphone that works with an infrared "Finger-Ring" type earpiece.
Click the link and take a look at the picture, this thing looks damn odd.
