The Recruit

The Recruit could have been an excellent movie but they made it too complicated and didn't bother to explain everything at the end.

I'm all for making the plot interesting by keeping everything mysterious to the degree that you aren't sure who's who and what's going on, but only if by the end everything is clear and you understand exactly what happened.

This movie was very complicated (in a good way) but when it was over you weren't sure exactly what happened.

I need closure damn it!

Bruce Almighty

Get this DVD at AmazonToday I saw Bruce Almighty.

The movie is pretty much what you expect (if you've seen the trailer then you know exactly what the movie's about).
But surprisingly it's still pretty good.
Unlike The Truman Show, which was a 2 hour version of its trailer, Bruce Almighty is fun to see.

Just don't expect any surprises.

Back To The Future 3

Get this DVD at Amazon Yesterday I finally finished watching the Back To The Future Trilogy (I saw Back To The Future 3).

This is my least favorite of the three movies but it's still a great movie and I give it five stars.

The bonus material on the third DVD was a real disappointment.
The deleted scenes had only one 10 second deleted scene and the other bonus features were more or less the theatrical trailers.

The entire trilogy is still outstanding!

Finding Nemo

We just finished watching Finding Nemo (and now I understand why kids in the US started flushing their pet fish down the toilet after watching this movie!).

We both love the modern computer generated animation movies and this wasn't an exception.
It's a great movie with a LOT of action.
There is so much going on in this movie that there really isn't a dull moment throughout the entire film.

But for some odd reason we both liked it less than other similar movies like Shrek and Monsters Inc.

BTW: I also played a bit of Finding Nemo on the PS2 and it's also a pretty cool game, but I'll elaborate more on that on a different occasion....

Bad Company

A great movie that we saw this weekend was Bad Company with Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins.

It's an action/comedy flick with a pretty standard plot (Chris Rock, a ticket scalper from New Jersey, is called to save the world after his twin brother, a CIA agent, is killed during an undercover mission).

The film is a lot of fun to watch with plenty of action and lots of funny scenes with Chris Rock as the street smart Jersey scalper who suddenly needs to work in the CIA.

Definitely one to check out.

One Hour Photo

In One Hour Photo Robin Williams does not play a typical Robin Williams kind of role, but a serious dramatic role.

The movie is great and is very visually pleasing (the colors are so alive and vivid).

The only problem I had with this one is the end.
I need closure damn it!

I tell you: a digital camera is the only way to go...

Basic

Another movie we saw this weekend is Basic.

This is an excellent flick that you have to see more than once.

This is one of those movies that constantly keeps you thinking about what's going on, a who-dunnit type of film.

I don't want to give too much away but I'll just say that as soon as the movie was over we both agreed that we must see it again (soon).

National Security

Yesterday we saw National Security which is basically another Martin Lawrence film (ahh that says enough).

The movie is a pretty funny action comedy movie, along the lines of Lethal Weapon and Bad Boys.

This one probably won't be nominated for any Oscars but it's still worth 1.5 hours.

Buying The Cow

Get this DVD at Amazon Buying The Cow was the movie that we saw this weekend.
It's an ok film but nothing great.
The movie started out pretty good but got boring by the end.

There were some funny scenes especially the scenes with Ryan Reynolds (Mike Hanson) that kept the movie moving along.

Back To The Future Part II

Get this DVD at AmazonYesterday we saw the next movie in the trilogy: Back To The Future Part II.
After seeing Back To The Future Part I on Friday we decided to continue with the series (we won't be able to see part three today).

Unfortunately, the Part II DVD doesn't have as much bonus features as Part 1, but it's still my favorite movie in the trilogy.

I hope we catch Back To The Future Part III sometime this week.

Back To The Future

Get this DVD at AmazonOn Friday I saw one of my all time favorites: Back To The Future.
I bought the trilogy a while ago but hadn't had a chance to see it, so Friday I finally did.

I don't really believe in buying DVD movies but this series is an exception.
The DVD offers some cool popup facts while you are watching the movie (but I noticed that the Back To The Future Part 2 DVD doesn't have this :-().

Next time I'm going to see it with the director's commentary.

Jackass - The Movie

Get this DVD at Amazon I'm not going to say much about Jackass - The Movie since it's just like the TV show.

If you like the TV show then you'll like this movie.
It's just a bit more out there.

I'm seriously surprised that Steve-O is still alive after this movie, for real.

One thing I was a bit disappointed about the movie is that it was exactly like the TV show and I had expected them to exploit the silver screen a bit more.
Other than that it's just pure Jackass.

Big Trouble

Get this DVD at AmazonBig Trouble is a pretty cool movie that is based on a novel by Dave Barry.
This movie has been in my ''to see'' list for quite a while and when I finally saw it I wasn't disappointed.

Barry Sonnenfeld, who made this movie (and both Men In Black movies) did a great job.

Recommended highly...
